1949 Wyandotte, No. 429 Official "W" Service and Wrecker Truck in Original Box
Gorgeous enameled pressed steel Official "W" Service and Wrecker Truck manufactured by Wyandotte. Unused, complete with original derrick, tow hook, and crank. Includes original illustrated box. It's known as a shark-nose design for its distinctive forward slating cab. It was beautifully enameled in brilliant, rich colors. The cab and derrick are an intense cherry red with yellow grille and headlamps. All four pressed steel disk wheels were also painted yellow. The chassis plate is bright lime green. The side panels surrounding the dump bed are bright white with red markings. "Official W Service Car" was lithoed on both sides. The term "service car" applies to the vehicles which it tows. The towing derrick is removable although you run the risk of scratching the dump bed. Original box shows the earliest version of the same truck issued in 1939.
